This is my first attempt at making an electric guitar. I chose a Telecaster shape mainly for two reasons. First of all, I didn't have one yet and I started to like the character of them. They have a very characteristic "twangy" tone on the bridge pickup and a really pleasant glassy tone on the neck pickup. I really enjoyed making this, since it was a totally new experience.
Of course some experience and knowledge from furniture making carries over to instruments, but there are many new challenges and some tolerences are much smaller. Overall I'm very happy with my first guitar. I've learnt a lot of new things and had to fix some mistakes and do them over, but the end result is there. It plays well and sounds great. I definitely want to make more guitars in the future.
